KATIE ADAMS
Katie Adams brings a unique blend of artistic and nonprofit experience to her work as a grant writer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Oboe Performance from DePaul University and a master’s in Orchestral Studies from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
As a performer, Katie has played with the Civic Orchestra, Chicago Composer’s Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic, and Salt Creek Ballet, and is a founding member of Amethyst Winds. As an educator, she has taught oboe at The People’s Music School and maintains a private studio, where she emphasizes both musical and emotional development to foster self-esteem, discipline, and personal expression in students.
In 2016, Katie transitioned into nonprofit development, combining her passion for the arts and education with fundraising. Her interest in development grew from a previously unexplored love of writing and a deep commitment to expanding access to arts experiences for the greater Chicago community.
